Within the Business and Administrative Services Division, Facilities Management is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that enables faculty and staff to fulfill the educational mission of California State University, Bakersfield through the continued maintenance of campus facilities and grounds, by providing services in a reasonable and timely manner, and by maintaining a quality-oriented organization geared toward the enhancement of the educational environment.

As the Manager of Custodial Services, this position provides direct management and leadership for the day-to-day operation of the Custodial Department at a university. The position oversees the custodial staff on multiple shifts who work to provide a clean and safe environment for Students, Faculty, Staff and Visitors. Involves the cleaning and housekeeping of buildings and exterior areas including classrooms, laboratories, offices, auditoriums, gymnasiums, health center, rest rooms and other campus spaces. This position also manages the Events and Moves staff responsible for event set ups and for moving people and equipment.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
Supervise Custodial and Events/Moves Staff
Visual Inspection of Facilities
Review, approve and assign Work Orders
Manage Custodial and Events/Moves Operating Budgets
Respond to campus requests and need
Disaster Emergency Worker
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Attend training and maintain skill currency as appropriate to safely and effectively complete assignments.
