Within the Business and Administrative Services Division, Facilities Management is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that enables faculty and staff to fulfill the educational mission of California State University, Bakersfield through the continued maintenance of campus facilities and grounds, by providing services in a reasonable and timely manner, and by maintaining a quality oriented organization geared toward the enhancement of the educational environment.

As the Manager of the Roads & Grounds Department, this position manages and supervises the day to day operation of the Roads & Grounds Department at a university. The position oversees the Roads & Grounds staff who work to provide a clean and safe environment for Students, Faculty, Staff and Visitors. The staff are responsible for maintaining multiple NCAA Athletic fields and 375 acres of developed landscape areas.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
Supervise Staff
Visual Inspection of Roadways, Parking Lots and Landscaped areas
Review, approve and assign Work Orders
Manage Roads & Grounds Operating Budget
Respond to campus requests and needs
Disaster Emergency Worker
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Attend training and maintain skill currency as appropriate to safely and effectively complete assignments
